Clara Beata (Kleiboeker) Smith, age 91, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Monett, MO, passed from this life on Tuesday evening, April 27, 2010 at the Spring Ridge Assisted Living Center in Springfield. Clara was born on April 9, 1919 in Freistatt, MO, the daughter of the late Gustav Kleiboeker and Maria (Holle) Kleiboeker. Clara received her education from Trinity Lutheran School in Freistatt and later had worked for Tyson's in Monett. After she retired, she and her husband worked as Custodian's for the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt where she was a lifetime member. She had attended the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Springfield for the last five years. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League as well as the Lutheran Braille Workers. Clara married Reuben O. Smith on November 26, 1950 in Friestatt. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2003. Clara is survived by one son, Dale Smith, of Verona, MO; two daughters, LaDonna Smith, of Springfield, Elva Bossaller and her husband Herb, of Broken Arrow, OK; two grandsons, Matthew and Chris Smith, of Mt. Vernon, MO; a host of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Aletha Fay Smialek, of Mt. Vernon; two brothers-in-law, George H. Smith, of Washington D.C and William Smith and his wife Sue, of Indianola, IA; and one sister-in-law, Selma Kleiboeker, of Mt. Vernon. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Melvin Kleiboeker; one brother-in-law, Raymond Smith; and one sister-in-law, Luella Hunnell Spears. The Smith Family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and residents of the Spring Ridge Assisted Living Center for their love and support. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2852 South Dayton, Springfield, with Pastors Duane Maas and Jeff Sippy officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Freistatt with Pastor Ryan Buchmueller officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Buchanan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
