Marilyn E. Stewart, age 85, of Mt. Vernon, MO, went to her heavenly home on Sunday evening, February 18, 2024 at Oak Pointe in Monett.
Marilyn was born May 31, 1938, in Carthage, MO, the twin daughter of the late Martin and Milda Kleiboeker. She grew up on a dairy farm in the Freistatt area and attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Pierce City High School.
She married Jack L. Stewart on October 6, 1956, and they were blessed with two children.
She started her career as a Nurse's Aid at St. Vincent's Hospital in Monett and then in Joliet, IL. When she returned to Missouri she became a Teller at 1st National Bank in Pierce City where she eventually became the first woman officer of the bank. In later years, she worked in the office at Willow Brook Farms.
Her favorite occupation was that of wife, mother, grandmother and "Gigi". She loved her Lord and all His people. She had a loving and generous heart and was loved in return everywhere she went.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Brad Stewart and wife Marla of Mt. Vernon, MO; a daughter, Marcia Parrigon and husband Jeff of Pierce City, MO; 6 grandchildren, Bridgett (Dan) Schmutz, Kelsey (James) Ledford, Tyler (Kyrie) Stewart, Justin (Alyssa) Parrigon, Jessica (Cody) Lowery and Bethany (Jonathan) Lundy; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
She joins in Paradise her loving parents, Martin and Milda (Schoen) Kleiboeker; her best friend and twin sister, Carolyn Fritz; and her adoring husband, Jack Stewart.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel in Monett. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, MO with Reverend Jake Sletten officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran School or Church, in care of Buchanan Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO
