Arlen Edgar Holle, 77, of Freistatt, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Lacoba Nursing Center in Monett. Mr. Holle was born on Oct. 12, 1930, in Lawrence County, Mo., the son of Edgar and Frieda Osterloh Holle, of Freistatt. Mr. Holle was a long-time Monett rural mail carrier and served in the Monett area units of the Army Reserve and Missouri National Guard. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, he was also a founding member of the Freistatt Lion’s Club and active in the American Legion and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARF). Arlen Holle married Ann Schoen in 1981. She preceded him in death earlier this year. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Pam Schoen, of Freistatt, and Phil and Karen Schoen, of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Schoen and Scott Simmer, of Washington DC; a sister, Vernice Langer, of Lantana, Texas; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces, Jane Langer, of Lantana, and Karen Willard, of Highland Village, Texas; and a great-niece, Carissa Langer, of Baltimore, Md. Funeral arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett. Visitation will be held at Buchanan Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Oct. 2. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial following in the Trinity Cemetery.
