Notes for Friedrich Wilhelm Kruse
!No firm, complete record has been found on Friedrich's marriage. Although on June 7,
1976, Carol Brown of the Genealogy division of the Indiana State Library in
Indianapolis answered a letter of inquiry and wrote "Unfortunately, we could
not locate anyone with the surname Kruse
living in Bartholomew County at the time of the Census. However we found a
Frederick Kruser married to Wilhmen Fiedens in the WPA Bartholomew County
Marriage Records, 1850-1920. The date of license was March 25, 1852, but we
found no date of marriage return." Subsequently, the actual marriage license
was found. It was indeed issued on March 25, 1852. It was signed by Henry G.
Bachmann, a Minister of the Gospel. On this license Friedrich's wife's
name is written as Wilhemena Fiedens. It appears that this was a confirmation
or formalization of their marriage because on the license Rev. Bachmann left
blank the section on "I...do certify that on the ___________day of_______,
1852 I joined together..."

! Henry C. Bachman was the Minister of the Hope Moravian Church atHope IN. On
6. February 1993, Dennis Kruse found in the Hope Church records on Microfilm
the baptism records of both Johann Bernard (2nd child, the first Kruse born in
America) and Henry (3rd Child). This then substaniates the Marriage
Certificate found at the Courthouse. It was interesting to note that the Kruse
children baptized were listed on a page in the Hope Church Records entitled:
"Confirmation of Record of Baptisms administered to children of adults not
belonging to the Moravian Church by the Minister at Hope, Ind."

On Nov. 29 1989 Glenn H. Kruse found:
!Naturalization Records at Bartholomew County Historical Society
Library, 1826-1936
"Kruze, Frederick
Native of Hannover
October 14, 1856 declared his intention to be naturalized.
Renounces King of Hannover"
!Friedrich is buried at St Johns Lutheran, White Creek Cemetary in lot
#172, eighth row from west end and 6th stone north of middle drive.

!Friedrich's last will and testament was filed February 1, 1896 at the
Bartholomew Co Courthouse.

!In July of 1992, Dennis Kruse found Frederick and his family's record of
arrival in the US. They arrived on the ship Diana, from Bremen to New Orleans
and arrived May 25 1851. The reference was found in "Germans toAmerica -
Lists of Passengers Arriving at US Ports, 1850-1855" Volume 2 May 1851-1855.
Edited by Ira A. Glazier and P. William Filby. Published by Scholarly Resources

!On Dec 27. 1993, Dennis Kruse found Frederich Kruse's original baptism records
in Dissen Lutheran Church, as well as Fred's emmigration permission in the
Osnabruck Staatsarchiv. Fred appears to have been born in Haus #11 in
Aschendorf. No marriage record of him and Wilhelmine were found inthe Dissen
Church records.
