Notes for Lorn Herman Kleiboeker

Lorn H. Kleiboeker passed away September 25, 2019. On November 16, 1924 he was born on the family farm in Lawrence County to August and Hulda (Rusch) Kleiboeker. His 94 years of life were spent on the same land his father purchased in 1916 and where Lorn and his nine siblings survived the challenges of the Great Depression and learned the value of hard work. In 2016 Lorn was pleased to accept, on behalf of his entire family, the Missouri Century Farm award recognizing operational farms that have been in the same family for 100 years.
A devoted brother, uncle, husband, dad, and grandpa, Lorn was most proud of his family. He married Alice Spree on January 2, 1953. In 60 years of marriage, they raised four children and had the welcome mat out for many nieces and nephews.
Lorn was a lifelong farmer raising cattle, corn, and grain crops. While the world and agricultural production changed significantly during his nearly 95 years of life, Lorn remained much the same. He was hard-working, honest, and kind; a helpful neighbor and family man. As times grew more complicated, he was most at peace with simple pleasures of life...watching the Angus cattle graze on the hill, enjoying a family hayride, and feeding the songbirds outside his window. As a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, Lorn served on various boards and committees. He especially enjoyed working with the Braille workers outreach.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice, his parents, his brothers: Martin, Alvin, and Hubert; his six sisters: Elda Haunschild, Leona Gaulke, Meta Burkholder, Vera Kruse, Lorene Buescher, and Evelyn Schnelle. Lorn was the last member of his generation of Kleiboekers to be called to his heavenly home.
Survivors include his two sons, Nolan (Dotti) and Steven (Brenda) Kleiboeker; his two daughters, Anita Breazeale and June Huff. His son-in-laws, Jody and Jay preceded him in death.
Lorn is also survived by six grandsons, Ryan (Abby), Eric (Katie), Jared (Shannon), and Jamison (Jennifer Chapman) Kleiboeker, Aaron (Shalene) Breazeale and Austin Huff; and four granddaughters, Jeanell (Ryan) Stockton, Jennifer (Phil) Elbert, Adrienne Huff and Katie Kleiboeker. He had eleven great-grandchildren, August, Anna, Mekhi, Colton, Cobie, and Emily Kleiboeker, Cohen and Evie Stockton, Beckett and Tatum Elbert, and Harper Breazeale.
A special thank you to those who were supportive caregivers to Lorn, especially Pauline.
Visitation will be held at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett, MO on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt on Friday, October 11th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jake Sletten officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Radio Broadcast. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home.
