In Greene County, Marriages 1890-1894 William E. Harrison's mother islisted as Rebecca Needl es, but in all other references it is RebeccaKeys, including the marriage certificate of Wil liam H. and RebeccaKeys, in Franklin County, Ohio in 1838.

According to records in Greene County, IA, Genealogical Society,William and Rebecca came t o Greene County in March, 1869. They movedfrom Ohio to Jones county in October 1850.

Obituary from Grand Junction, Greene Co., IA newspaper: Dies January7, 1900

"Grandpa Harrison is Gone. He died in Grand Junction at the home ofhis daughter, Mrs. A. B . Crow, ofuremic coma. Wm. H. Harrison; aged82 years, 11 months, and 7 days. Grandpa Harriso n was born inFairfield county, Ohio, on January 30, 1817. His parents died when hewas ye t a small boy, and he made his home with an uncle until hismarriage to Miss Rebecca Keys, o n November 18th, 1838. To this unionwere born nine children - Benjamin, Letitia, Henry, Mary , John,George, Ellen and William, of which six are left, with the aged wife,to mourn his de parture to a brighter and better home in the sky. Inthe fall of 1850 he moved to Jones count y, Iowa, and in 1857 he wasunited with the U. B. church at Rome and continued a member of th atchurch until 1869 when he moved on a farm near Jefferson, Greenecounty, Iowa. There bein g no
church of that faith there he joined the Methodist church where hismembership has remained u p to his death. In 1885 he made his finalmove to Grand Junction where he has since resided.

Grandpa was a faithful husband, a kind and loving father, a mostagreeable neighbor and goo d citizen, always thoughtful for thecomfort of others and hoping for the best; while, in hi s last hourshe lived his life over again.

It seemed to those who watched that he could not praise his Saviormore; at times offering t hanks for the blessings he had received, andthen being absorbed in prayer. "Blessed are the y who die in theLord." The funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Iia.m. o n Tuesday conducted by Rev. E. Hill, assisted by Rev. J. M,Krafft. The remains were laid t o rest

Obituary from newspaper, Grand Junction, Greene Co., IA, USA "AgedCady Dead. Grandma Harriso n, as she was known to all, died at thehome of her daughter, Mrs. A. B. Crow, Wednesday afte rnoon, April 25,1906, aged 85 years, 5 months and 27 days. The funeral services wereheld fr om the A. B. Crow house this afternoon at 2 o'clock, conductedby Rev. H. O. Bethel.

Rebecca Keys was born in Delaware, October 28, 1820. She came to Ohiowith her parents and s ettled in Frank)in county. Here it was that shemarried, November 18, 1838, to William Harris on. Nine children wereborn to this union, six of whom survive their mother, the father having gone on before several years ago.

The daughters are Mrs. L. Goon and Mrs. A. B. Crow. The sons are:George W. who lives in Ark ansas; James I-I. of Nebraska; John ofPomeroy and Will of Collins, Iowa. Will was the only o ne of the sonswfio were able to f~e in attendance at the funeral, he and his wifehaving arr ived Thursday afternoon. In 1850 Mr. and Mrs. Harrison cameto Iowa and located in Jones coun ty.
They lived there until 1869 when they moved to Greene county.In 1886they moved to Grand Junc tion and it was here Mr. Harrison died. Sincethat time Mrs. Harrison has made her home wit h her children. Shehas known many hardships of frontier life. having come to the Statewhe n it was very sparsely settled. She has been a church membersince her youth. Such is the r ecord of a good life, and it is a richheritage for her children. We can assure those who ar e left to mourntheir loss that they have the sympathy of a large circle of friends."
