Carolyn Elda Fritz, age 74, of Monett, MO, passed away from this life on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 7:50 a.m., following a courageous battle with ALS.
Carolyn was born May 31, 1938, in Carthage, MO, the twin daughter of the late Martin and Milda Kleiboeker. She grew up on a dairy farm in the Freistatt area and attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Pierce City High School.
She married Oren A Fritz on September 15, 1956, and they were blessed with one daughter, Rachel. Carolyn was an entrepreneur with her husband Oren where she spent countless hours in the day to day operation of their family businesses. She and Oren managed Fritz Brothers Oil Co. with co-owners Erwin and Nelda Fritz. In 1980, Carolyn and Oren started Fritz Implement with their daughter and son-in-law, Robert Mais, where she retired from in 2000.
Above all else, Carolyn was a woman of deep faith and a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt. She took pleasure in welcoming visitors to church and singing in the choirs. Throughout life's greatest joys and its greatest trials, Carolyn was a faithful witness who found strength in God to bring a smile to her face every day.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Oren; daughter, Rachel Mais, and her husband Robert, of Monett; grandson, Rodney Mais, and wife Christine; great-grandchildren, Addison and Nathan, of St. Charles, MO; and grandson, Russell Mais and wife Meghan; great-grandchildren, Carson and Ava, of Crestwood, MO; one twin sister, Marilyn Stewart, of Mt. Vernon; and two sisters-in-law, Melba Fleming and Nelda Fritz, of Monett.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel in Monett. A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 29, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, MO with Pastor Ryan Buchmueller officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran School Scholarship Fund or to Hospice Compassus in Monett, in care of Buchanan Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO
