According to a note from Vera Kruse: Yes, I have two very interesting letters re: Fritz’s einfaengnis ( german for imprisonment) in East Berlin by the Russians which lasted into the 50’s, and we helped bail him out. Paul lived in West Berlin, his (Paul’s) time was not as bad.

They had two children 5 years apart. There is a typewritten note of relatives in Germany and what they need. At that time the boy was 6 years old and the sister was 11.

There are 5 letters from Fritz and Katie Rusch written between 1949 and 1959 that explains their situation in Russian controlled East Germany. These will be translated and made available.
