Notes for “Anna” Maria Adelheid Tiemann
Anna and many of her family and relatives immigrated from Germany in 1882. They landed in Baltimore and traveled to Pierce City, MO by train, then traveled by wagon to Freistatt, Lawrence County, MO. Some children and grandchildren also came along. Hermann passed away only three years later, in 1884, and is buried in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery in Freistatt. Some of his Meyer descendants still live in Freistatt today.
Mike Meyer visted Macke's Farm in June, 2002 just north of Achmer, Germany. It is now beautiful country restaurant, called Cafe Harmonie. It is still owned by the Macke family.
