Robert Allen (#1211242) was born May 11, 1839. On September 12, 1867,he married Mary France s Long in the presence of the Abram Andesfamily. The marriage certificate was signed by Jos eph Funkhouserofficiating per JD Donoven, Pastor. [The marriage information wassupplied b y my cousin, Lillian. I met with her last week (November1999>. Her mother was Rose Harriso n, one of Robert and Mary'schildren. Rose just died and lived to be 100. She was not a tal ker,though, and her daughter had difficulty pulling information from her.Lillian thinks th at Mary Frances had six siblings, one who wasmarried to Abram Andes. Lillian also has a new spaper clipping aboutRobert that she has agreed to copy and send. In addition tointerviewi ng her own mother, she did some research of the RockinghamCo files and she took a lot from J ohn Houston Harrison's book.] I donot know who Mary Frances's parents were. She was born A pril 19,1845 and died August 3, 1921. Robert died May 9, 1912. Both areburied at the Keez letown cemetary. The book says that they lived atthe "Cross Roads." I think that I know wh ere this is, I'm sure thatJim could verify it for me, it's rather close to Keezletown. Robe rtand Mary Frances had five children.
