Adam Lewis (#12112423) was born August 31, 1878. On April 7, 1901, hemarried Effie Lee Earm an in the home of Rev HC Early. [Lillianprovided the place.] Effie's parents were James Cap oke "Jim" Earmanand Margaret "Maggie" Carpenter. I know nothing more than theirnames. M y cousin Jim tells me that the Carpenters all died of TB.Last night, I also met a Carpente r via the internet. He has somethat tie into Keezletown. I hope to learn more from him, fr om mycousin Jim, and from the cemetary. I'm thinking that my mother sawCarpenters near th e Harrisons tombstones, but didn't realize thatthey might be relatives. After correspondin g with the Carpenter lastnight, I decided to look in the book for them and then in your stuf f.I didn't go into it, but I noticed that you have quite a few listed.I can't help but fe el that they may have travelled down from OysterBay with the Harrisons, Lincolns, Tallmans , and the lot. Jim knowswho has the Earman family Bible and my mother knows the families to o.Jim feels certain that they will share the information with me--so,another source. Goo d thing, because I'm finding very little aboutEarman. I'm wondering if they changed their n ame. Jim did tell methat it is German. Effie was born December 1, 1878 and died March 28, 1962. Adam died in 1952. They raised my mother and I know wheretheir house is. I will t ell you a little about their children, manyof whom I've met, all are now dead.
