Grote that arrived in the USA on the same ship Maryland that arrived in 1864 carrying Anna’s husband, Diedrich and Diedrich’s mother and his older sister and older brother. The passenger record lists Catherine Elisab. Grote as being 20 years old. Anna would have only been 12 at the time. The Maryland departed Bremen on August 5, 1864 and arrived New York on September 8, 1964. The ship carried 154 passengers. Not sure yet of the relationship between Anna and Catherine Elisab. Grote
