Ervin August Kleiboeker, eldest son of Henry D. and Anna Regina Kleiboeker was born at Mounds OK, which was then in Indian Territory, on February 6, 1904 and passed away at Sands House Sanitorium in Denver CO July 6, 1963 at 10am after an illness of about 2 months at the age of 59 years and 5 months. He entered the hospital in Lamar on May 22, and was transferred to Presbyterian Hospital in Denver on May 24. He was later taken to Sands House where he stayed until his death.

Mr. Kleiboeker came to Colorado with his parents in 1915, his father had homesteaded southeast of Kit Carson and he spent the remaining part of his life in this community and also received all of his schooling in the Kit Carson area.

In 1918 he was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Genoa, CO. He remained a faithful member all his life, taking an active part in the Church holding some office most of the time.

He was united in marriage to Ida Steinike on August 16, 1928. To this union was born one son, Kenneth who lives in Denver CO.

He is survived by his wife, Ida, son Kenneth, daughter in law, Katie and granddaughter, Carolyn Sue, two brothers, John of Kit Carson and Herbert of San Diego, CA and a host of relatives and friends. Services were held in the Shool Activity Room on Wednesday July 10 at 10am with the Brentlinger Funeral Home in charge. The Rev. Warren Schaue of Lamar officiated. Internment was in the Fairview Cemetery at Cheyenne Wells. Holthus, Virgil Lessenden, Harry Pursley, Bert McNeely, Gene Bergman and Ted Kunzie.

“You cannot say, you must not say that he is dead, He is just away. With a cheery smile and a wave of his hand, He has wandered into an unknown land. And left us dreaming how very fair it needs must be, Since he lingers there. So think of him faring on, as dear in the love of There, as the love of Here. Think of him still, as the same and say He is not dead, he is just away.
- From the writings of James Whitcomb Riley.
