Notes for August Eduard Rusch
August was listed on his death certificate as occupation: retired, and a former Shephard (Schaefer). Since he died at the end of World War Two, at the age of 79, he was living at a Refugee camp in a Schoolhouse. This was due to the fact
that his last address was in Gross Spiegel, Kreis Dramburg, Pommern, which is now Pazrzadlo, Poland. At the end of the World War II, Pommern was given over to the Polish people as now part of Poland and no longer Germany. It also listed his religion as "Evangelish", or Lutheran. August died at 11:00pm on 7. September 1945. August and his wife Bertha fled Kreis Dramberg or at least that area in June 1945, due to oncoming Russian Troops.
Vandsburg church records Taufe 1854-1874 did not have any record for August's birth in Jan to April 1866.
Glenn Kruse wrote a note in the 1990’s that one of August’s sons lived on the island of Ruegen as well.
