David and Louise Rusch came to America with their children: Hulda, and Otillie.
Two children stayed in Europe, August and Theodore.
Left Germany (Debenke, Kreis Wirsitz, Posen) via Bremen Dec 18 1902 on ship Karlsruhe arriving port of Baltimore January 1 1903. On ship's passenger list, she is listed as 68 years old and can not read or write. (Not clear if this meant English or German or both). She stated that her last residence was Debenke, Germany.
According to Callawy Funeral Home Records [Monett MO, 1899-1939 Printed 1995 by the Lawrence County Historical Society] Louise died of "organic heart disease" at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 15 days and buried at Trinity Lutheran Freistatt. List entry 766 on page 53 says:
"Rusch, Mrs Louise
Funeral : 22 May 1912
Death: 27 May 1912
Cause: Organic heart disease
Age: 78 yrs 9 mos 15 ds
Buried Trinity Lutheran Cemetery"
According to a book printed by the Lawrence County Historical Society, Lawrence County Missouri Tombstone Inscriptions, Volume 6, SpringRiver & Freistatt Townships, on page 94, You can find an entry that states: Rusch, Louise -- Aug. 12 1835 - May 27 1912.
According to her death certificate, she was born August 12 1833 and she died at age 78 years, 9 months, 15 days. Her death was due to Organic Heart Disease and signed by Dr. Carlos Copeland of Freistatt MO. August Fritz, her son-in-law signed the certificate as well.
